Kael, or, more accurately, SPARTAN-42/001, is a forty-second generation SPARTAN supersoldier. He is descended from Kurt-051, one of the first SPARTAN soldiers. In true SPARTAN fashion, he stands over seven feet tall and weighs almost 300 lbs, without his armor, which is black and red. As ONI and the UNSC became more used to the merged dimensions, they began incorporating new systems and techniques into their SPARTAN soldiers. Generation 42 was the first group to be trained in the use of magic. Kael is outgoing, brave, and above all, loyal. Loyal to his team, his friends, and then his orders.

Kael leads Liberty Team, comprised of himself and three others, one other SPARTAN-42 and two SPARTAN-41s.

Originally, Kael and Liberty Team had been assigned to protect Raja in the early years of the second war following Necrosis' reappearance. However, they were recalled due to some nasty troubles on Reach. After it had been rebuilt in 2831, it was one of the number one defense priorities. Following the Defense of Reach, they were deployed various other places before returning to fight with Raja and the others.

SPARTAN-42/022, Kristen, is the other SPARTAN-42 of Liberty Team. Direct descendant of SPARTAN-087, Kelly, she inherited her ancestress's legendary speed. Slightly smaller than most SPARTANS at 6' 11", she is no less strong than any one of them. Her pale blue and sea green armor has housings on both wrists for foot long blades that eject with nothing more than a thought. A most unusual circumstance has happened between her and her team leader, Kael. They have been formerly engaged and plan to marry in the near future.

Kristen is the stealth expert and communications specialist of Liberty Team

background:

SPARTAN-41/102 Bruce, is a generation 41 SPARTAN. As such, he does not have the magic abilities that both Kristen and Kael possess. Standing at 7' 3", his pure red armor has a very psychological effect on anybody that sees him, which rarely happens.

Bruce is the official sniper of Liberty Team, though Kael edges his score out by a little

SPARTAN-41/026 Alex is the biggest SPARTAN of Liberty Team, and its final member. Standing at 7' 11" in his pale gray armor, he is an absolute behemoth, even for a SPARTAN.

Alex is the heavy weapons specialist, carrying so many weapons he could supply a platoon of Marines and have some to spare.
